The Purbeck Mining Museum is dedicated to the history and heritage of Purbeck Ball Clay mining and its industrial narrow gauge railways. The museum tells the history of clay mining in Purbeck, its association with the Swanage Railway Branch and the story of miners and their families.
The Mining Museum is housed in the last underground mine building that worked in Purbeck. The collections includes mining equipment, images and artefacts related to the social and economic history including narrow gauge railways.
The Museum has been created almost entirely by volunteers and is part of the Swanage Railway Trust
Note: The full underground mine is not accessible, but you will be able to view the underground tunnel.

Located near Corfe Castle in Dorset, you will find the museum at Purbeck Park near to the Norden Park Swanage Railway station.
