A One Man Show with David Hepworth and Mark Ellen

An evening of chat with TV presenters and music journalists David Hepworth and Mark Ellen

• What was Live Aid like from the inside?
• Who is the world’s grumpiest rock star?
• What was the greatest record ever made?
• How did we survive 70’s rock festivals?
• What were the big rock and roll events since the 1950’s?

David Hepworth and Mark Ellen have been talking, writing and broadcasting about pop music for over five decades. They first worked together in the early 1980’s on the magazine Smash Hits and went on to launch their own memorable magazines including Q, Empire Mojo, and the Word.

You may remember them as presenters on the BBC’s music programme The Old Grey Whistle Test and also for the Live Aid concert which celebrates its 40th birthday in 2025! Currently they produce the podcasts ‘Word in Your Ear’ which they started in 2006.

Come along and enjoy an evening of chat in Wareham on the 4th April. David and Mark will be looking back on the colourful pop and rock stars they have met, the magazines they have run, the TV shows they have presented and the gossip they couldn’t possibly have printed at the time…!!
