Bat Night Trail

Discover an exciting nocturnal world and explore both the ecological and economical impacts of bats

Careys Secret Garden are delighted to welcome local bat enthusiast and researcher Nick Tomlinson for another fascinating Bat Talk and Walk. 

Would you like the opportunity to hear and see bats in their natural environment? This exciting night trail gives you the chance to find out more about these remarkable mammals. You’ll get a chance to use a bat detector and find out more about their roosting habits, their habitat types and their conservation status.

The event will begin with a presentation at 8.30pm – 9.30pm. The garden will be open for check-in and refreshments from 8pm. There will be a guided e a walk around the garden and wider estate to hopefully see, and hear, various bat species. The walk will finish in the car park at 10.30pm.

This event is suitable for ages 12yrs+. There will be walking on uneven- ground in the dark, so please bring a head torch or hand torch and wear suitable footwear.

About Careys Secret Garden

An opportunity to visit over three acres of beautiful gardens. Enclosed behind a 19th century wall the garden had been left abandoned for a number of years but has been carefully restored for all to enjoy. Careys is also home to the ‘The Berlin Wall Exhibit’, is a moving and atmospheric new exhibition of original Berlin Wall fragments complete with original artwork and graffiti.
