Encaustic Wax Experience Day this Easter at Careys Secret Garden with Lyn Kirkland.


£160 per person, full-day workshop in a truly beautiful and inspiring setting. Day includes;

Morning Workshop: 3-hour Nature Inspired Encaustic Wax Taster Session 9.30am – 12.30pm. Enjoy a morning’s painting session using the flora in the garden – impressing leaves/flowers, creating a silicon mold to fill with wax and adhering to the wooden painting panel. This encaustic wax painting uses a hotplate and heatgun which you will be expertly guided on using to create your masterpiece. 

Refreshments at lunchtime (Free hot drink and slice of cake), guests are welcome to purchase additional lunch items from the coffee shop, 1 hour of free time to explore the walled gardens 

Afternoon Workshop: 3-hour Fauxberge Egg Making Experience 1.30pm – 4.30pm. Paint a ceramic egg using encaustic wax, recycled beads and gems, using mark making tools and silicon stencils to create interest and texture, and mica powders to create an opulent egg to rival the original Faberge’ eggs

Careys Secret Garden

An opportunity to visit over three acres of beautiful gardens. Enclosed behind a 19th century wall the garden had been left abandoned for a number of years but has been carefully restored for all to enjoy. Careys is also home to the ‘The Berlin Wall Exhibit’, is a moving and atmospheric new exhibition of original Berlin Wall fragments complete with original artwork and graffiti.
