ABOUT

On the 28th May, the Dorset Guitar Society’s all guitar orchestra will perform a concert in the stunning 16th century barn at Kingston Country Courtyard. The night will include a delicious Spanish tapas themed buffet!  The Dorset Guitar Society  ensemble includes around a dozen guitarists as well as some solo performers. The programme will include some Spanish pieces as well as other styles of music.

Dorset Guitar Society Orchestra

The Dorset Guitar Society, established in 1984 promotes the music of the guitar with ensemble performances, master classes and workshops. Their Guitar Orchestra has around twenty members and perform several concerts every year. Over the years they have hosted classical guitar recitals and master classes by some of the most renowned players in the world.

In 1994 the society formed its own guitar orchestra and over the past few years has premiered Stephen Kenyon’s Concerto for Guitar Soloist and Guitar Orchestra and Grant Bocking’s Spanish Suite for Guitar Orchestra, as well as playing recitals locally around Dorset.
At the Kingston Country Courtyard event the guitar society will perform a varied programme of ensemble and solo items, some of which will be Spanish in style.

Kington Country Courtyard

Kington Country Courtyard’s 16th century barn is a truly unique venue.  The venue is ideally located in the heart of Purbeck, just a short drive from Corfe. As well as offering holiday accommodation, Kingston Country Courtyard has an established restaurant featuring an international menu using locally sourced produce from Purbeck and Dorset.
