Join the Marine Management Organisation for a special event focused on exploring the different ways in which the people who live, work and visit Studland Bay, place importance, depend on and enjoy its natural environment.

What to expect at the Studland Bay Event

Share Your Stories: Bring your personal experiences that highlight how Studland Bay holds meaning for you.

Uncover Local Connections: Explore how local people and visitors engage with the bay for recreational and cultural activities.

Knowledge Sharing: Help us identify any gaps in our understanding about the cultural and social importance of the bay.

Local Wisdom Matters: Share your insights to shape the future of the bay, ensuring your communities voice is heard.

This will be an interactive event, where you will be invited to map the natural features of Studland Bay that are important to you and participate in group discussions.

Food and drinks will be provided to all participants and the event will be facilitated by an independent facilitator, who will make sure that there is an opportunity for all participants to contribute in a comfortable and open way. They will also be inviting an illustrator to join them for the day to help capture a visual representation of how different people value Studland Bay. They  would like to share this visual illustration with all who participate as a lasting memory of the event.

Why are we holding this event at Studland Bay?

This workshop will be hosted by the MMO’s Evidence & Evaluation team who work to support colleagues on marine management around England. Whilst this workshop will not change the Voluntary No Anchor Zone (VNAZ) in Studland Bay, they want to work with you to make sure that the diverse values associated with this area can be brought into any future decisions about management in this area.

Please note: MMO’s Evidence & Evaluation team is separate to the MMO’s Marine Conservation Team, the Studland Bay Marine Partnership and their ongoing work in relation to the protection of the site and introduction of the VNAZ.

There will be three workshops on the following dates:

            Wednesday 15 November, 10am – 1pm

            Wednesday 15 November, 6pm – 8:30pm

            Thursday 16 November, 1:30pm – 16:30pm

Free Event but please reserve a place (at www.eventbrite.com)
