What's new for PAW 2025 - Purbeck Art Weeks
Purbeck comes alive with creativity!
Get ready for a spectacular PAW 2025 Festival (May 24 – June 8) when Purbeck comes alive with creativity, music, and community spirit!
This year’s Purbeck Art Weeks Festival promises an exciting mix of exhibitions, open studios, live performances, talks, and hands-on activities, featuring both local talent and internationally acclaimed musicians. Whether you love the arts, music, or culture, there’s something for everyone.
PAW continues to grow, with this year’s Rollington Barn exhibition featuring more artists than ever before! Visitors can explore, meet artists, and even purchase unique works, while the Purbeck Young Artists (PYA) exhibition showcases the incredible creativity of local young people.
One of the stand-out events is our outdoor, picnic-style performance of The Fairy Queen, a magical semi-opera by Henry Purcell, where local school students will be part of the performance. We are delighted that Dorset Council and the Dorset Community Fund have supported this exciting production. Alongside this, we’ll be hosting engaging talks from leading voices in the arts and creative workshops, from writing to singing.
Experience the magic of music with PAW 2025!
Music lovers are in for a treat, with an exceptional line-up spanning centuries of sound. Expect everything from early baroque masterpieces to lively 20th-century Latin rhythms, performed by some of the finest musicians from around the world. Highlights include:
• Apollo’s Cabinet – A musical journey through 18th-century theatre music.
• Bach and His Roots – A stunning performance by Ayres Extem-porae & Hannah Ely.
• Stile Antico, Augelletti Ensemble, and Saraband & The Opera Company – Captivating vocal and instrumental performances during our Mini-Festival Weekend (Fri 30 May – Sun 1 June)
• Singing and writing workshops – A chance for YOU to get involved!
