The Anglebury House Hotel and Restaurant in Wareham Dorset

Details

The historic Anglebury House Hotel is set in the heart of Wareham.

The house dates from the 16th century, originally built in 1550 it is one of the few buildings to survive the devastating Great Fire of Wareham of 1762. The traditional guest house in Wareham has retained its old worldly charm together with lots of original features and its centuries old traditions, offers a warm and friendly welcome.
The Anglebury has survived for some 450 years and we love to share it history with guests that come to stay with us. Room 1 was used by Lawrence of Arabia when staying with his friend who then owned the Anglebury. Thomas Hardy also used the restaurant to draft his book ‘The Hand of Ethelberta’

We have 2 double rooms, a family room, twin room and single room.

We offer bed and breakfast and have a restaurant and bar facilities and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
